Have you ever wondered how the asanas got their names? From front-split pose and the monkey god Hanuman's split-legged leap to save a princess, to eagle pose and the deity Garuda who wrapped his wings around himself to shrink in size and defeat the serpents--many yoga poses are named directly after the Hindu gods and goddesses and the shapes they took in their tales. When we learn the stories behind the asanas, we connect to the ancient cultural source of the practice for deep spiritual embodiment of these 3,000-year-old epics. Join this workshop for powerful storytelling to deepen your practice.
